Mount Laurel Animal Hospital was started in 1976 by Edward M. Sleeper, VMD.
Animal Emergency Service of South Jersey (AESSJ) was created by James M. Laessig, DVM, who joined the practice in November 2003. While the practices were originally owned separately, they came under sole ownership of Dr. Laessig in January 2006.
In December 2013, Dr. Robert Mankowski and Dr. Christopher Torre purchased both services from Dr. Laessig. While both services remain seperate entities, we are pleased to announce that the emergency service is available 24/7 to provide emergency care, continued hospitalization as well as accept referrals from local veterinarians regardless of the time of day. We’ve expanded our services to include a Doctor on premisis at all times to see emergency patients as well as coordinate their care and communicate the patient’s status with their regular veterinarian, updating them every step of the way.
Many of our staff and veterinarians have lived and been employed in this area for most of their careers. Continuing in the future, we will strive to excel at what we do; provide quality compassionate care for our patients, as if they were our own, and treat their owners as part of our extended family.
